David Yancey was born
in California but now calls Texas home. Trained as a graphic artist, he has
made his living for over 20 years using graphic design in his businesses and
ran his own advertising and Design service for 5 years in California.
After moving to Texas he accidentally
stumbled across the wonderful world of stained glass. Intrigued by this art
form, he eventually shifted his attention from graphic art to glass art
which is still his mainstay today. See

David utilized his new skills of working with lead and
solder and his love of trees, to create the first Bonsai Stone:
~ “There is something so beautiful and inspiring about a tree or plant that is
growing out of a rock or cliff. To me it symbolizes perseverance. I have
tried to capture this in my Bonsai Stone. The first attempts were very
crude, but eventually they have evolved into beautiful lifelike Bonsai
scenes.” ~
Today David is creating small table top Bonsais to large garden and patio
pieces and someday envisions his trees in waterfalls and fountains.
